About The Slot Machine
This time, I have picked a theme very few people could fail to recognize. It is good versus evil, in some clear contrasts as a devil and an angel. But the slot is more special than that, and it is just as much the work in graphics that is in focus as the cool bonus features that are included in the game. Archangels is showing that NetEnt is a game provider that is just maybe taking online slots to heights that no one had counted on. Not even the mechanics of the new slot machine are typical of previously released game mechanics.
Archangels: Salvation consists of a slightly larger playing field than a typical video slot. The game features 6 spinning reels, 12 rows, and 100 fixed paylines. Two extraordinary bonus features have been added, along with some of our favorite features, including wilds and freespins.
It has been split into two segments, each representing the angel and devil of the game. The whole game concept hinges on these two personas. They inhabit the game universe and have their respective... ...Netent has provided a couple of oversized bonus symbols for said characters to interact with.
2×2 Wilds
Typically, Wilds perform in a manner similar to that of a standard bonus symbol. They replace other symbols, thus helping to create winning combinations. But in NetEnt's new video slot, a slot inspired by the work of American artist Robert Crumb, the Wild symbol has grown (Zynga bets!). When this Wild, which could depict either The Devil or an angel doing angelic actions, appears on the reels, it takes up much more space and covers way more of the reel positions than any symbol we have heretofore encountered in the Wilds Cascading Reels slot. As mentioned above, this Wild takes up 4 positions and grants the user with a +4X Multiplier.
Functions
In the game's line structure are found two so-called Hot spots. One is at the top, consisting of the game’s top 2 rows, and the other is at the bottom of the playing field, consisting of the bottom 2 rows at the bottom. During the free spins round of the game, the two fields not only double in size but also now consist of the top 3 rows and the bottom 3 rows.
What makes these Hotspots special is each containing a wild feature that can be activated by a wild symbol of 2×2. The one up top belongs to heaven, and the one down low is from hell. They are both triggered by the symbol of The Big Wild, and any part of that symbol landing within a Hot Spot is enough to set off the wild function therein. But if you manage to get the entire Big Wild symbol into a Hot Spot, the bonus function is activated 4 times-1 for each position it takes up on the playing field. Best of all, if a Wild or stacked Wild should land in the same field again, the feature can be triggered once more.
Celestial functions
The angel on the left side of the game field takes over and helps. If a 2×2 Wild should land entirely in the top hotspot of the Game, 4 stacks of wild symbols are generated. If, however, the symbol lands partially in the field, only 2 stacks of wild symbols are generated. The Length of the joker bars ranges from 3-5 and they cover Scatter symbols as well as Wild symbols. They can't, however, land in their own Hotspot, i.e., in the field at the top.
Hell functions
The devil to the right of the playing field works in a slightly different way. This feature is activated when the larger 2×2 Wild symbol lands in whole or in part in/on the lower Hot spot of the game. When this happens, individual wild symbols are thrown out of the field and land in random positions on the reels. These cannot replace either Wilds, Scatter symbols or in their own Hotspot. On the other hand, the more wild symbols that get generated (8 or as many as 16 jokers)
Scatters & Free Spins
The free spins that everyone loves. Video slots have a feature that is as simple and satisfying as it is common: the bonus round with free spins that are activated by a Scatter symbol. In classic video slots, the Scatter symbol just kind of sat there, doing its business, as most such symbols do. But what if, if only for the sake of argument, one imagined a Scatter symbol in a video slot not just doing what it was supposed to do but doing it in a way that kind of made sense?
When free spins and Wild features are activated simultaneously, the Wild feature is always started first. The number of free spins awarded is no random event, either. Based on how many Scatters you manage to Spin, 3, 4, 5, or 6, you'll receive either 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins. These free spins commence automatically and use the same bet level and coin value as the triggering game round.
Even if the Scatter symbol should be obscured by stacked Wild symbols, it is active, and even if only half of the Scatter appears, it acts as if it were whole. However, Extra free spins cannot be triggered during the free spins round.
Summary
Trying out new titles is always thrilling, especially when they're crafted by skilled developers like Netent. There are few game providers that match their level in terms of sound, graphics, and engaging bonus features. With Archangel: Salvation, they've taken it a step further by infusing the video slot with a story—complete with characters—that ups the winning chances. They've also packed the game with multiple reels, rows, and paylines, making it a pretty unique slot experience at first glance. But it only gets bolder from there, with enlarged Wilds and Scatter symbols that take the game's look to a whole new level. What brings it back down to Earth is the hypothetical payout, which clocks in at a slightly lower figure than we're used to seeing from NetEnt. The RTP is 96.08%, which translates to slightly less frequent huge wins.
