Updated Written and checked by the Casinos-Online editorial team

Why pages here carry a desk and a date instead of an invented byline, and what you can check instead.

The desk, not a byline

This page exists because most casino comparison sites answer the question «who wrote this?» with a portrait, a first name and an invented biography. We answer it differently: pages here are produced by the Casinos-Online editorial desk, a small team working to the rules set out in our editorial guidelines, and no page carries a personal byline. That is not modesty. A name on a casino review is only useful if you can check the person behind it, and a name you cannot check is worse than no name at all.

What you can check is the work. Each page names the documents it is based on, carries the date it was last read against them, and links to the operator’s own terms so you can confirm any figure yourself. Corrections are made on the page rather than in a footnote, and the date moves when they are. If you find a figure that no longer matches the operator, that is a defect in our page and we want to hear about it.

What we do not do

  • Nobody here holds a casino account. No money of ours goes through an operator’s cashier, nothing on this site is a report of a play session, and no number here came from one. Where a figure appears, it comes from the operator’s own published terms, from the Gambling Act 2003, or from a Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua) publication, and the page says which.
  • We do not score casinos out of five. A star rating implies a measurement we have not made. Pages list what an operator offers and what its terms say, and they name the thing we could not confirm instead of rounding it into a number.
  • We do not publish invented authors. There are no bylines with portraits here. Pages are produced and checked by the editorial desk, and the date beside a page is the date it was last checked, not a decoration.
  • We do not take money to change a conclusion. We are paid a commission when a reader opens an account through a link on this site. That pays for the work; it does not buy a placement, a ranking or a sentence.
  • We do not tell you that offshore gambling is risk-free. Until licences are issued from 1 December 2026, every online casino that accepts New Zealanders is offshore, and that is the single most important fact on this site.

Gambling harm

Gambling is not a way to make money, and the Gambling Act 2003 restricts what may be advertised to New Zealanders for good reason. Nothing here is advice to gamble. You must be 18 or over to open an account with an offshore casino, deposit limits are worth setting before you play rather than after, and if gambling has stopped being entertainment for you or for someone close to you, the Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and available 24 hours: 0800 654 655 or gamblinghelpline.co.nz.

What this site actually gives you

We are a comparison site, not a casino. Everything below is checked against primary sources — operator terms, the Gambling Act 2003, and Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua) publications — and dated.

  • Offers with a date on them Every welcome offer carries the day we last read it in the operator’s own terms. No figure appears without that check.
  • New Zealand law, in plain words What is legal, what changes on 1 December 2026, and which payment methods the licensees’ credit-card ban actually covers.
  • Payment rails that work from here Read off each operator’s own cashier page rather than copied from a European site — including the methods that stopped working.
  • How we are paid Commission on some links, never on our conclusions. Our method.

Who wrote this

The Casinos-Online editorial team — a New Zealand-facing desk, not a named byline, because every page here is produced and checked by more than one person. We read operator terms, the Gambling Act 2003, the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 and Department of Internal Affairs (Te Tari Taiwhenua) publications, and we date what we check. We do not claim to have deposited, played or withdrawn at the casinos we describe.
