Asgardian Stones
About The Slot Machine
Asgardian Stones has a pretty standard setup, comprising 5 columns, 3 rows, and 20 fixed paylines. But it does have some mechanics not seen before in slots from NetEnt, including a sort of bonus wheel that doles out other fun mechanics such as free spins, Wilds, and enlarged symbols. As with most of its games, NetEnt also provides a very healthy RTP rate of 96.31% that should satisfy both high rollers and more conservative players.

Symbols
Asgardian Stones' symbols of minimal value are the standard A, K, and Q letters carved in runestones. Each of these three has the same value when they form a winning combination, and they can win you 30 coins when you group them together in a pattern over a payline that counts these runestones as a winning combination. The carvings in the Asgardian Stones display a motif of carved stone figures from Norse mythology and reflect the theme of the game. The figures are the medium-value symbols, and the Asgardian gods are the high-value symbols, making wins associated with them bigger than the wins associated with the runed symbols.
The oldest and the wisest of the Asagods, Odin has been chosen to be the game's frontman, and also to be the symbol that is worth the most among all the runestones. Combine 5 of him right on the reels, and you will roll in a win of 500 coins. Odin's wife, Frigg, sits in the next step down, on the second highest value of all the stronger stones in the game. She is green, and when you combine 5 of her, you get a payout of 300 coins. After that comes Heimdall, the blue figure in the game, who can give you a win of 150 coins for a 5-figure combination.
The goddess of fertility Freja is represented by the violet symbol, which has the second lowest payout of all the more$aft symbols in the game. The only symbol that pays out less is the Bull, which generates a profit of 100 coins.
Wilds
The Joker in the game has a light blue background and a clear W in gold in the middle. This acts like Wilds usually act in online slots and can substitute for all other symbols, in this case with the exception of the bonus wheel. In the game's free spins round, you can see this as really awesome across the screen if you're lucky.
Functions
Like several earlier NetEnt releases, Asgardian Stones incorporates an Avalanche feature rather than classic spinning reels. The slot machine has 5 columns, with symbols that fall into place to form winning combinations. When you hit a win, the runestones of the Avalanche feature tumble down and other symbols found below in the columns rise up to take their place. The symbols that are part of the winning combination then explode (not too different from the sound you hear when breaking apart a piñata), making space for new symbols to land in the columns. In my quotes above, I refer to the win-generating symbols as "exploding" symbols.
Colossal Symbols
What some symbols can become after the Avalanche feature is activated is exactly what a colossal symbol is. In this respect, here is how a giant symbol can drop onto the playing field: All symbols can be giant symbols; the only ones that can launch into giant mode yet still have the ability of a symbol in the game (as opposed to an ordinary one) are those of the regular variant (not Wild). If an enlarged symbol drops into the game, it cannot leave part of itself behind with the space-filling symbols that also drop during the same round.
The bonus wheel
Here it gets really interesting, and especially so since this is the first time we've seen anything like this from Netent. The game's bonus wheel is a block symbol that takes up 3x3 places in the game's columns. This can only land on the last 3 reels on the far right in either the regular game round or in the free spins round. If you get the bonus wheel, you don't know if what's coming next is free spins, a coin win, or both. This depends entirely on how the wheel comes to rest, just like any wheel of Fortune.
The bonus wheel is not like the usual symbols in the game that vanish from the playing field after you win. Instead, the bonus wheel remains, which gives the Avalanche function more time to do its thing. The function Avalanche doesn't start right away after the bonus wheel stops. Instead, it sits there and lets the wheel hang around on the playing field as it is doing its thing.
The bonus wheel coin wins are multiplied as well, in addition to the multipliers in the Colossal Crush feature. But if you trigger the Avalanche function next, the multiplier won’t be reset, as multipliers normally are, when you trigger a new game function. Instead, your coin win multiplier will now be a new, higher multiplier if it is supposed to increase again. When the Avalanche feature wraps up, all bonus wheel winnings are then added to your balance.
Free spins
During the free spins segment, the Wild symbol can also appear in large reel- full formats. If such a symbol is part of a winning combination, it is split back to a 1×1 size before exploding off the playing field. Also remember, the round with free spins is played at the same bet level as the regular round that made the feature happen.
Colossal Crush features
The Avalanche feature can only be activated once, but it can then be triggered in both the game's regular game round and in the game round with free spins. To make the Avalanche feature actually work, though, a colossal symbol must always have symbols beneath it, in all fields directly below it. When a new enlarged symbol falls down, it does so onto randomly generated rows of symbols just below it, and a colossal symbol must always have a full house directly beneath it.
If a big symbol gets formed when there are no symbols below it and it has just won, the big symbol will hang on to all the symbols below it until it is either stopped at the bottom of the playing field or there are no more symbols left underneath it.
Summary
While we are now accustomed to the flawless performance of new game launches from NetEnt, we are still left jaw-dropped and giddy with excitement over the Asgardian Stones. This online video slot game is not only packed with more bonus features than almost any other, but its graphics and sound are also a step above the standard we expect from NetEnt, and if anything, they are even more mesmerizing. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this video slot such a stunning product.
