Bridesmaids

Bridesmaids-our review at a glance

The joyful partnership of game creator Microgaming and film studio Universal Pictures has gifted us with a number of fine slot machines inspired by some of our favorite films. In the past we've seen such games as Jurassic Park and Terminator 2, but now they serve up something a little more pink, humorous, and chick flick compatible.

The slot machine Bridesmaids is, of course, based on the wildly popular movie of the same name. In the game, we find all the main characters, complete with clips and dialogue directly from the reel.

Don't let the somewhat “girly” theme trick you. Bridesmaids is a movie for grownups. And this is a highly adult slot, with two wildly different kinds of Free Spins, nice bonus games that let you win as many as 8000 coins, and a truckload of humor.

A stylish, modern, and entertaining slot machine, quite simply. We are well aware that the theme may not appeal to everyone, but judging by its popularity, the slot has already found a large and loyal audience. Here you can win up to the casino's cap, and the theoretical Payback is 96.70%.

Literally laden with special features like free spins and bonus rounds, Bridesmaids is a slot game that perhaps tries too hard to be a good time. Still, let's try to put into words what makes it such an exciting ride!

Wheel bonus

Landing 3, 4, or 5 cupcake symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the wheel bonus, leading us into the game's other bonus games. (We mention this because it's easy to forget, and this game has enough going on that it's easy to be confused. We should also mention that the Cupcake symbol can bring winnings of up to 100 times your total bet. In this bonus game, we choose one of four cupcakes, each of which hides different rewards. Depending on which cupcake we choose, we can either get increased pink cash wins, increased Blue Cash wins, all cash wins multiplied, or two extra pointers for the wheel.

Next, the wheel is spun. Cash awarding fields in blue and pink give you immediate winnings. Four different kinds of bonus modes can be activated if the wheel pointer lands on one of them. They are: 1. Friendship Freespins, 2. Flying High Freespins, 3. Boutique Bonus, 4. Magic Moment Bonus.

Friendship freespins

In this mode, you receive 10 free spins and winnings can be paid out for combinations that run from left to right or right to left. The various Bridesmaids characters are stacked on the reels, which indeed improves the odds of you winning.

Flying high freespins

Once again, we have 10 no-cost spins to enjoy without staking cash. Yet again, we gain access to the delights of The Rolling Reels cascades and growing Wilds features. Rolling Reels means we could win several times successively on one single spin as winning symbols disappear. Growing Wilds are not only substitutes but expanding wild symbols that grow vertically and cover a complete reel one at a time.

Boutique Bonuses

In this bonus round, you are sent to a separate game screen with 12 different gift boxes. To earn more bonus coins, try to “unbox” the bridal beak! Your mission, should you choose to accept it: match two of the same beak. If you match the beak twice, this bonus round is over and you will earn coins in accordance with the magnitude of your match (the longer it takes to match, the more coins you earn).

Magic Moment Bonus

Once more, we find ourselves on a distinct screen. Before us are 10 images frozen in time from the film. Engage with the individual Images to witness the scene from whence they came. Each picture is also tied to a tangible reward. Secure the cake that is in The Shape of a carrot with the text “I'm Sorry” (it's a long story!) and this bonus round comes to an end!

Summary

We guess that this slot machine mainly finds fans among the audience who enjoy “chick flicks.” But don't be misled by the pink exterior of Bridesmaids—this is a slot with serious heft! The game's bonus wheel can lead you to as many as four different bonus modes, two of which are free spin features that don't go crazy with the hacks. And with a max win of over an amount set by the casino on dollar bets, we can't complain about the win potential either.

Anyone who dislikes the theme may have a hard time with Bridesmaids. The slot machine simply etches so much into the movie and its characters that it will probably be a bit stressful if you are not a fan. However, this is not a critique on our part, but more a matter of personal liking and taste.
