Stakes, set-ups and winnings

If you've played contemporary video slots, you understand the basics. Enchanted Crystals from Moderna Videosautomater features a standard format of 5 reels and 3 rows. There are no classic pay lines to speak of. Instead, this game offers 243 different ways to win, thanks to its use of winning paths. In other words, as long as you have 3 matching symbols anywhere on the reels from left to right or right to left, you're in the money; they don't have to be in any particular pattern. Of course, this setup increases your chances of hitting a win, and it's a format we find pretty interesting.

Five bet levels are available to players: an amount set by the casino, an amount set by the casino, an amount set by the casino, an amount set by the casino, and an amount set by the casino per spin. While this is a decent range, it's somewhat disappointing that you cannot select from more in-between stages. After all, the jump the minimum the casino sets is quite large, to put it mildly.

Regular symbols include the fairies that give the biggest winnings. They mainly give large sums when the blonde fairy lines up; she yields 15 times the bet if you manage to line up and get 5 of her. Not a huge win per se, but if you add the possible special symbol outcomes to the game, it can quickly become significantly larger sums.

Enchanted Crystals has a good RTP (theoretical payback) of 96.72%.

Symbols and functions

Wild The Wild symbol in the game is an enchanted crystal. Like any typical wild symbol, it can substitute for all other symbols except the scatter and bonus symbols. Expanded Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. When these cover the entire wheel (which is standard for expanded wilds), you are in the presence of a massive improvement of your chances of winning. In addition to an improved likelihood of winning, 1, 2, or 3 re-spins are triggered depending on how many expanded wilds you have received.

Scatter The scatter in this game is the butterfly. If you land 5 butterflies anywhere on the screen, you win 20 times your bet. However, the really cool thing about the butterflies is when you get 3 of them, you go to the free spin part of the game, which gives you 10 free spins (no charge to you). And during those free spins, the butterflies don't just sit by idly. They get busy, flying around the screen and alighting on random symbols, which then turn into wilds. You can reactivate the free spins feature up to 4 times, for a total of 50. A wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols except the butterfly (scatter) and the flower (bonus).

Bonus games Among all the beautiful fairies, the only ugly one is the little green troll. If you collect 3 of these symbols, the bonus round is activated. Your task now is to get to the troll's chamber and recover the icicle he has stolen. You can win in the bonus round up to 500 times your bet, or as a maximum set by the casino.
