The Sugar Trail

About the Sugar Trail slot machine

Do you belong to the group of people who sometimes find it a bit difficult to keep their cravings at bay? Who feels how the loose candy shouts at you when you pass by it in the store? In that case, let's introduce you to Sugar Trail – a really sugary slot game from developer Quickspin. Maybe this game can dampen the worst cravings for sweets – or it has the opposite effect! Either way, step into the world of candy, special features and winnings.

The symbols consist of wine gums, jelly raspberries, candy canes, caramels and other things that make your teeth ache, as well as a bunch of cute gummy bears. As always, Quickspin keeps an eye on this with graphics and design, although we suspect that this slightly sweet look will not be on everyone's lips.

Stakes, set-ups and winnings

What about the scheme? No major oddities here. If you've played modern video slots in recent years, Moderna knows what to expect. Sugar Trail has 5 wheels and 3 rows, which is standard nowadays. The game has 40 fixed bet lines – so it is not possible to play on fewer than that at a time. You can change the bet by clicking on “total bet”. Remember that the total bet is the sum of the bets on all individual paylines. Thus, a total bet of an amount set by the casino means an amount set by the casino ona per line.

The next step is to successfully line up identical symbols along one or more of the paylines. 3 or more matching symbols from left and right will win. Among the usual symbols, there are usually no giant wins to be claimed – at most you can win 125 times the bet per line. However, the game has a whole bunch of special features that save on the winnings properly.

The game has an RTP (return to player) of 96.50%, which is more than approved.

Symbols and functions

Free spins with wild symbols
If you get 3 purple gummy bears, you trigger this special feature. You are then awarded a bunch of free game rounds where Flying wild symbols jump around to different positions between each free spin. You can get additional free spins when the free spin symbol with the text “+1” appears.

Locked re-spins
If you get 3 green gummy bears, locked re-spins are activated. A number of wild symbols on the reels will be locked to a certain position, where they remain during All re-spins. You can see how many re-spins and wild symbols you get when you activate this feature.

Cash bonus
If you get three blue gummy bears, this feature kicks in. Here you get short and sweet instant cash wins and multipliers.

Wild symbols
Wilds work in the same way in Sugar Trail as in most other slot machines. They are a kind of jokers that replace other symbols and help you to win. Wilds cannot bring any winnings per se, but generate winnings by completing other symbol combinations.

Summary

We think most players will immediately know if they will like Sugar Trail or not. Just as the sweetest sweets are not to everyone's taste, this slot machine probably won't either. However, if you like the really sugary sweet, you will enjoy it like the fish in the water. The game is well made and contains plenty of nice and different features. Try it and see if it's something for you! Tips on another cute slot machine is Cashanova 2, or Hearts and Tarts.
